Non Work-Study | |||||||
Regular non work-study student employment is part-time, on-campus employment for undergraduate or graduate students attending the University of Maine. Departments may also employ high school students or students from other colleges. Employers may use a variety of methods to advertise job openings; word-of-mouth, posting announcements on bulletin boards, placing ads in the campus newspaper or posting a job with the Office of Student Employment. Employer Eligibility Student Eligibility The employer and student choose each other. Neither the employer nor
the student is under any obligation to establish a working relationship
until both parties have reached a mutually satisfactory agreement. Students
cannot begin working for employers until they have completed a Student
Employment Authorization through the Office of Student Employment and
an I-9, W-4’s and mandatory direct
deposit form with Student Payroll
or Student Employment
