Present: Gus Burkett (CASE), Joe Carr (University Relations), Andrea Gifford (Student Affairs), Tom Grucza (WMEB), Sunny Hughes (Communication and Journalism), Michael Murphy (WMEB), Dave Nickerson (Maine Channel), Joseph Pelletier (Maine Channel), Kenda Scheele (Student Affairs), and Benjamin Violette (Maine Channel).

Meeting began at 3:30 p.m. in Room 315 Memorial Union. The board discussed the need for and value of having bylaws and clear organization (e.g. organizational chart) for the Maine Channel. Gus indicated that he had met with members of the Maine Challen about restructuring the organization to support continuity from semester to semester and from year to year. Elections will be held after Spring Break and the group is working on their bylaws. There was discussion about the group (Maine Channel) electing their advisor in the future.

The board then went on to discuss financial management and accountability. Andrea is already working with WMEB. The Maine Channel will also begin working with Andrea with their budget and accounts. In addition, both the Maine Channel and WMEB agreed to do an inventory of equipment, supplies and other property. This will be presented to the board at the April 2009 meeting. The idea of having one person for production and one for equipment (Maine Channel) was also discussed. The responsibilities, job descriptions and reporting structure would be laid out on the organizational chart (see above).
