University of Maine Mentor Program for First Year Students

The M-Project is an exciting and interactive program for first year and transfer students that match you with student leaders to guide you through your first year on campus.  While the transition into campus life might be challenging, the M-Project’s goal is to help you find all the answers to your questions and provide you with information on the social and academic aspects of university life.

The M-Project connects you to a returning University of Maine student who has been through the transition experience and understands the many directions that campus life can take. Every first year student receives a “first-year guide.” Each guide will keep in contact with the people they are guiding throughout the semester. In this manner, they can share with you their insights, answer your questions and introduce you to the many activities that the University of Maine has to offer you.

Apply to be a guide!
