Welcome to Summer University!

There’s no place like Maine — especially during the warmer months — and there’s no experience like the University of Maine’s Summer University.

Campus is vibrant year-round, and summer is a special time in Orono. Our researchers, professors and students are still hard at work, but the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming.  With more than 600 courses and programs, Summer University is the perfect opportunity to take advantage of everything Maine’s most comprehensive university has to offer.

While you’re here, I also encourage you to explore Maine’s magnificent natural landscape.  UMaine is located within easy driving distance of Baxter State Park, home to Mount Katahdin, as well as Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.  Some of the best rock climbing, biking and hiking destinations in the country are in our backyard.

If you cannot come to campus this summer, we will be more than pleased to bring campus to you through our state-of-the-art distance learning technology.
