CIE439: Solid Waste and Air Pollution

Course Description:

Many human activities create unwanted by-products such as solid waste and air emissions. Learn how these can be minimized and controlled to reduce or prevent environmental degradation and health problems. We will examine the
generation, characteristics and health effects of solid wastes and air pollutants and explore how they have been managed to reduce the harm.

Grades will be assigned based on regular homework, two exams and two projects. 3 cr. Lecture
