If your interests cut across current openings, faculty member expertise, or research projects and you need assistance to determine where you might best fit, the Doctoral Fellowship Coordinator may be able to give you some guidance.
Alternately, if you have a strong background and a high level of self motivation you may wish to consider the possibility of enrolling as an “exploratory” student, which would allow you to spend your first one or two semesters examining the breadth of SSI before aligning yourself with a particular advisor and research team. In this case the Doctoral Fellowship Coordinator would serve as your temporary advisor until you find your niche.
