researchers are working with a forward-looking seafood
producer to discover new ways to improve the quality of
existing seafood products, and to develop new markets for
Maine seafood worldwide. Not only is the company
licensing a University-held patent to help it develop new
products and markets, the company has also devoted a
portion of its production facility to non-profit R&D
which University researchers can use to test new
processes in practice.
