Summer Camps & Trips - Outdoor Discovery Trips


Discovery Trips take place entirely outdoors and appeal to campers who are looking for a smaller group size and a more physically challenging experience. Rain or shine, participants spend their nights in tents and their days on the trail or in boats. These unique camping trips are designed to immerse youth in Maine’s beautiful outdoors and to teach skills in cooperation, natural history, communication and living lightly on the Earth. Maine’s coastal waters and inland hills provide a perfect setting for campers to discover their connections with the earth and practice outdoor group living skills.

All trips practice “Leave No Trace” camping procedures which require participants to leave behind most of the usual comforts of home. Backpacking is defined as carrying your food, clothing, and shelter in a backpack while hiking from site to site. Discovery Trips are generally limited to ten campers, under the guidance of two skilled and caring trip leaders.
