This is a searchable dbase--enter the city and state and find homes for sale or rent.  There are also links to find a mover, get estimates on moving; advice on moving with pets, as well as legal advice on "Before You Sign," "Deposits and Fees," and "Living with Landlords."

Rental Resource
If you prefer to rent and not buy a house or even an apartment, check out this site.

Homes.com
In addition to finding a rental, you can find out all the particulars of a neighborhood:  population, median age, median household income, median household net worth; even crime statistics and information on the schools in the area.

For Sale By Owner
At this site you can search for homes that are For Sale By Owner.

Coldwell Banker
In addition to property searches, this site features a "Neighborhood Explorer."  Here you can find out about schools in the area (includes number of teachers and teacher/student ratio); housing breakdown (number of single family dwellings vs. apartment buildings); median housing value for the neighborhood; median income of residents; percentage of households with children.

Prudential Northeast Properties
Lily Alavi, Sales Associate, at Prudential's Singleton Office will help you in your search for the perfect house.

Town & Country
This is a pretty straightforward site, easy to navigate and right to the point without a lot of bells and whistles.  This agency also offers to check into your Dream Home.  If you're driving down the road and see a house you really like but it doesn't have a "for sale" sign posted, they will check with the owners to see if they are willing to sell!

Relocation Services 
This relocation service is "designed to help professionals in higher education move swiftly through the relocation process."  Services, at no fee, include, home finding assistance, mortgage assistance, information on transportation of household goods.

Move.com 
The site is loaded with information from hints on helping your children cope with the sudden changes of moving, free childcare search (where you can also check the background of the childcare provider), to numerous checklists and calculators.

Moving Calculator
On this page you can click the moving calculator--based on the number of furnished rooms you are moving, it will calculate weight, transportation expense, and packing expenses.

UMaine Child Development Learning Center
The University of Maine operates a nursery school and state accredited kindergarten. You can request an application by calling 207-581-3123.

Bangor Hydro Electric Co. and Central Maine Power Co.
Check both these Web sites for rates to determine which carrier you would prefer. 

Verizon
Verizon is the local telephone carrier; they an on-line order form for your phone hook-up.

Bangor Water District
If you live in the "city" your water will need to be activated if service has not been continuous.
