Direct Deposit Travel Reimbursement Update |
 |
Direct deposit for employee travel and
expense reimbursements is coming to UMaine. The
university's "go-live" date for the first batch is
Tuesday, Dec. 9. As of Tuesday Nov. 25, a "Travel and
Expenses" link appears in each faculty and staff
member's MaineStreet Employee Self-Service menu. This
should allow each employee to review his or her direct
deposit bank account(s). UMaine faculty and staff
members are encouraged to update/add any account
information prior to the Dec. 9 payments. Those who do
not get a chance to make changes before Dec. 9 need not
be concerned. The system allows for changing bank
accounts at any time.
Please visit this Web site for more information.
The quick reference guides provide detailed information
about the process. Those with questions or concerns
should contact Vicki Barbalias at 581-1599 or Beth Morin
581-1552. |

House GOP Leader Tardy at UMaine Dec. 5 |
 |
State Rep. Joshua Tardy (R-Newport) will
visit the University of Maine on Friday, Dec. 5 as part
of the Margaret Chase Smith Policy Center Distinguished
Maine Policy Fellow Program. Tardy, who is the House
Republican Leader, will spend the day at UMaine, meeting
with students, faculty members and staff members. The
Distinguished Maine Policy Fellows program, which began
in 2006, brings Maine elected officials and senior
policymakers to UMaine for intensive one-day programs
through which they can learn more about UMaine, the
Margaret Chase Smith Policy Center and the work of the
university's faculty members and students. It is also
intended to provide opportunities for UMaine students to
have access to high-level public officials, through whom
they can learn more about government and the development
of public policy.
