Rich Bouchard, Facilities Coordinator

Rich has worked as Tanglewood's Facilities Coordinator for over two years. He was the Trails Team Leader for  the Maine Conservation Corps for 12 years, worked for Tanglewood for six summers, and worked for a few winters  as Teen Discovery Trip Leader during the 80's. Rich was very grateful when the Facilities Coordinator position became available so that he could return to Tanglewood. In his spare time, Rich manages Snowquest, a winter guiding service, with his wife, Sue.  They also tend a kennel of sled dogs for fun and adventure in Washington, Maine.

Patti Chapman, Manager of Funded Accounts

Patti has worked at the University of Maine in its Financial Aid Office for the past four years. Her current position as Tanglewood's bookkeeper entails paying the bills and balancing the accounts. Patti will also be assisting the Development Officer in tracking donations and preparing reports.

Steve Clarrage, Facilities Caretaker

Steve worked for the Maine and California Conservation Corp and for various landscaping contractors and nurseries in Maine before joining Tanglewood's staff as facilities caretaker.  He attended Unity College and is currently working on completing his degree through the University of Maine.

Jessica Decke, Summer Camp Coordinator

Jessica has a BS degree in Wildlife Conservation and Management from Southwest Missouri State University and a MS degree in Environmental Education from Antioch New England Graduate School.  She is an experienced environmental educator and oversees the development and implementation of summer programs at Tanglewood.

Cindy Dunham, Camp Director

Cindy has a BA in Environmental Studies from Linfield College and teacher certification from the University of Maine.  She oversees curriculum development for the summer camp programs and coordinates camp volunteers.

Jim Dunham, Camp Director

Jim has been with Tanglewood since its beginning in 1981.  Jim has a BS degree in Education from the University of Maine.  He is involved with many aspects of camp including: staffing, facilities, budgeting and various administrative tasks.

Heather Francis, School Program Coordinator

Heather has a BS degree in Environmental Science from Unity College and MS degree in Environmental Education from Antioch New England Graduate School. She has extensive experience in environmental education and classroom teaching and is certified secondary Life Sciences; and Middle School Science and English Language Arts.

Leslie Hyde, Extension Professor, Forestry & Environmental Education

Les has a BS degree from the University of Rhode Island and an MS degree in Forestry from the University of Massachusetts.  He has state-wide responsibility for Forestry and Environmental Education for the University of Maine Cooperative Extension.  Les is a founder of Tanglewood.

Barbara Koster, Administrative Assistant

The friendly voice that you hear when you call Tanglewood belongs to Barbara and to many campers’ parents, she is the “Dean of Admissions” at Tanglewood.

Corey Pickett, Marketing Manager & Editor

Corey is Tanglewood’s new Americorps VISTA: Communities for Children and Youth volunteer.  He has a B.A. degree in Journalism from West Virginia University and professional writing experience. Corey promotes Tanglewood through public outreach and in-house publications and assists in fund raising and marketing.

Laura Sebastianelli, Adult & Family Program Coordinator

Laura has an MSM in administration from Lesley University and a BA from Rhode Island College. She is an experienced naturalist, educator, and Registered Maine Guide as well as an accomplished and passionate animal tracker. Laura coordinates Tanglewood’s Elderhostel and Earth Connections Volunteers programs, and is responsible for developing new programs for adults.

Sarah Shepherd, Development Officer

Sarah has a B.S. degree from Ithaca College. She is experienced in fundraising, volunteer management and board development for non-profit and educational organizations. Sarah oversees the development activities for the Tanglewood 4-H Camp & Learning Center and Blueberry Cove.

Leah coordinates Tanglewood's Day Camp and is  lead educator for the School Program. She graduated with a degree in Outdoor Education and an emphasis in natural history from Northland College.  She has been in the field teaching ecology ever since.
