NewConifers of Maine  
A 28 page booklet of native and commonly introduced Maine conifers. The guide contains detailed illustrations and descriptions of the growth habit, bark, leaves, and cones of each of the 16 native and five common introduced species of Maine conifers.
Produced by Fay Hyland, Professor of Botany at the University of Maine and reprinted in 2008. The booklet is available through the Cooperative Extension publications office #7015.

NewBiodiversity in the Forests of Maine  
Biodiversity in the Forests of Maine describes characteristics of forest stands and landscapes that are important to biological diversity, and recommends forest management techniques that can help maintain biodiversity in Maine's forests.  The manual is intended for use by foresters, biologists, loggers, forestland owners, and forestland managers. Educators, land-use planners, and others interested in forest biodiversity will also find it useful. 176 Pages.

Forest Trees of Maine 
NewIn celebration of Forest Trees of Maine centennial, the Maine Forest Service has completely revised the book.  The new book is in full color and has over 250 color photographs of Maine’s trees in all four seasons as well as the traditional pen and ink line drawings from previous editions.  The book also includes historic photographs from Maine Forest Service archives, illustrating Maine’s rich logging and forest products history.
