Horse Statement - “4-Hers attending 4-H horse events in 2009 must provide proof of current, annual vaccination for rabies as well as a current Coggins test done by a veterinarian. EVH-1 and Equine Influenza are also required, horse owners may, however, administer their own EVH-1 and Equine Influenza inoculations and a sales receipt will be sufficient evidence for proof of vaccination.” EVH-1 and Equine Influenza are considered effective for six months. Plan the timing of your inoculations with your last event in mind.
Please note:
In addition to the state requirements,  Hancock County Horse camp requires the following additional shots of EEE, WEE, and tetanus which are standard.

Check This Out!   CYFERnet Travel Bug Race - Want to explore the planet vicariously and win a prize along the way? Then don't miss the second-annual CYFERnet Travel Bug Race. This month, youth and adult teams can start touring the globe via their Travel Bug: a metal tag that allows contestants to follow their "hitchhiker" trinket.
Hitchhikers may include everything from silver coins to plush penguins. A feature of Geocaching--the GPS-based adventure game--contestants place their trinket in an official geocache, register online and track their Travel Bug as it moves from cache to cache (i.e. logbook to logbook, place to place) in the real world. The more miles your bug travels, the greater your chances of winning!
Visit http://www.cyfernet.org/4htech/missions.html for complete details.

The National Collegiate 4-H Organization - has recently published their new website: http://www.collegiate4h.org.  Collegiate 4-H offers college students an experience after high school of volunteering with 4-H youth, serving their communities, and growing as a young 4-H volunteer leader. Collegiate 4-H is a nationwide program that can be implemented at any college campus.
Collegiate 4-H's website helps in providing resources in starting or finding a Collegiate 4-H club at any school (in any state!) and providing ideas for providing leadership to county, local, and state 4-H programs.
Collegiate 4-H is open to all college students who wish to support youth and the 4-H program.  It is not necessary to have prior 4-H experience, only to have an interest in the 4-H ideals and in serving your community.
