Education Program in Hancock
County
Small and Home Based business owners and potential owners can find helpful information, programs and resources at the Hancock County Extension Office.
We offer workshops on basic business management. The content is geared to those in the thinking, start up or early phases of business development. Topics include: Starting a Home Based Business - steps to success; Basic Record Keeping; Childcare Record Keeping; Understanding Financial Statements; Pricing Your Products and Services; Customer Service Makes Good Business Sense, Balancing Home and Business, and Marketing Tips for Business Success.
Publications on getting started and a variety of specific business management topics can be picked up at the office or retrieved from the Virtual Resource Library for Small and Home Based Businesses (VRL). The VRL includes links to data centers, publications, trade associations, lending agencies and more to help customers with market research, business planning, product development and professionalism.
