Maine Solutions projects will contribute to achieving one or more of the following goals:

Economy

· A resilient Maine economy that provides diverse economic opportunities for all citizens.

· Workers whose knowledge and skills are globally competitive, and supported by life-long education.

· Communities, governance structures, services and resources in a region that are connected in an effective and efficient manner.

Community

· Healthy and productive citizens.

· Youth who are fully supported by strong families and communities.

· Downtowns and mainstreets that are vital and active.

· Development that conserves public investments, cultural heritage and natural resources.

· Available and quality affordable housing.

Environment

· Healthy watersheds and ecosystems.

· Clean and sufficient water for human and natural use.

 Maine Solutions projects will also:

· Foster collaboration across sectors and, where appropriate, among agencies and stakeholders for integrated solutions to complex community issues.

· Seek to leverage resources

· Contribute to our knowledge of how to initiate and convene Maine Solutions projects

· Garner support for Maine Solutions and collaborative governance principles
