Tanglewood Offers Home-School Program News Articles | Brochure Tanglewood 4-H Camp and Learning Center, a program of University of Maine Cooperative Extension, has announced a special series of environmental education programs for home-schooled students aged 6-14. The program will be at Tanglewood's Lincolnville campus and will consist of three consecutive Monday sessions on September 24, October 1, and October 15, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. The cost is $48 for all three sessions, and all materials and supplies are included (participants must provide own bag lunch). For more information or to register, contact School Program Director Heather Francis by phone at 207-789-5805 or by e-mail at hfrancis@umext.maine.edu. The focus of this series will be on “Exploring the Natural World through Music, Art & Writing”. Participants will explore and learn about various ecosystems and process their understanding through nature journaling, art and music. No previous experience in the arts is necessary, just an interest in nature and a willingness to try new things is a compassionate, cooperative group setting. Tanglewood sits on the Ducktrap River in a forested 940-acre section of Camden Hills State Park and offers a diverse range of year-round learning opportunities. For more information visit http://www.tanglewood4h.org. For more than 90 years, University of Maine Cooperative Extension has supported UMaine’s land-grant public education role by conducting community-driven, research-based programs in every Maine county. |
