Art HOPE Community Angels

"Helping Opportunities for People Everywhere"

A collaboration between York Hospital Oncology Treatment Center and Cooperative Extension, Art HOPE uses experiential arts to bring together individuals living or affected by cancer, their families and caregivers, and the community.

At monthly Creative Gatherings participants explore and create art as a form of stress reduction and well-being.  Created art is displayed in the Art HOPE “Garden of Gifts Gallery” at York Hospital’s Oncology Treatment Centers in York, Wells & South Berwick.  Art HOPE brochure

4-H Community Angels

A specially trained group of “Community Angels” participate in Art HOPE.  These teen artists, aged 14 to 17, share their time and creative energy in support of this community-building program.  They are volunteering through the 4-H Discovery Arts program of the University of Maine Cooperative Extension.  Community Angels brochure

A Creative Service Opportunity

We offer this opportunity for teenagers aged 14-17 to receive training and to join monthly Art HOPE Creativity Gatherings as we come together in celebration of creative expression and community.

Creativity Gatherings are facilitated monthly meetings where those affected by cancer gather to create art, support one another in their journeys, and build a sense a community for themselves.
