Community Coalitions

Community Wellness Coalition - The Community Wellness Coalition (CWC) sees itself as a multi-sector coalition, bringing together community leaders to work on quality of life issues in Southern York County (Kittery, Eliot, York, S. Berwick) in all the dimensions of wellness represented in a Wellness Model.

Its philosophy is to identify and build upon assets, replacing weaknesses with strengths as we nurture the development of people, families, organizations, and communities. Its mission: "Connecting the people and resources of Southern York County".

Cooperative Extension staff have collaborated with the CWC since its inception in 1997. Staff currently provide capacity building and strategic planning support to the CWC Executive Board and Executive Director. Cooperative Extension staff also are studying the CWC as a model for grass-roots community building.
