Nancy Beaulieu, Extension Nutrition Aide

Nancy has
been a Nutrition Aide with
University of Maine
Cooperative Extension
since 1996. Her work involves individuals, families, and children.
Recently her work has expanded to teaching classes to young adults,
who are working towards their goal of a high school diploma at the
Biddeford Learning Center. In the local area, she is known as "The
cooking lady." |

Sheila Douglass,
Administrative Assistant

Sheila began
her
career with
University of Maine
Cooperative Extension
in
May 1968 in the York County Court House basement in Alfred. She left
work in May 1971 following the birth of twin daughters, returning in
January 1972. Sheila has seen many changes in Extension since
1968 and has worked with many Educators (who used to be called
Extension Agents). She has witnessed amazing and incredible
changes in technology. Her work with Extension has been, and
is, challenging and rewarding. |

Donna Flint,
Administrative Assistant

Donna has
worked with
University of Maine
Cooperative Extension
since 1995. She works as an Administrative Assistant and statewide coordinator
of the 4-H Animal Sciences program.
She has been a Master Gardener since 1999 and really enjoys the
relations and knowledge she has gained through the program.
She incorporates her Master Gardener knowledge into her 4-H
activities, including the Kid’s Can Grow Program. |

Aileen Fortune,
Extension Educator

Aileen joined
University of Maine
Cooperative Extension
in 1982,
teaching family skills including parenting and child development.
In 1995 she began The Gender Project with a vision to understand
gender differences and support young people in getting beyond the
often unhelpful messages they receive about what it means to be male
and female today. Turn Beauty Inside Out, Maine began in 2002 with a
special focus on girls and women, body image, self-confidence, media
literacy and leadership development. Aileen's work is about changing
the culture and creating a new definition of beauty to be about
"good hearts, great works and activism". |

Sharon Hinkley,
Extension Nutrition Aide

Sharon
joined
University of Maine
Cooperative Extension
in 2003
as a Nutrition Aide.
As a past 4-H member in central Illinois, she has also encouraged
her three children to be active in 4-H and currently have a two
grand-daughters who are active in 4-H. She has a Bachelor's
Degree from the University of Illinois, and 20 years of public
service experience with the State of Illinois. |

Jon Prichard,
Extension Educator

Jon
joined
University of Maine
Cooperative Extension
in 1990 as an Area Community Development Specialist and since 1994 has served
as an Extension Educator in York County. He has a Masters in
Public Administration from the University of Maine. Jon's
work is in youth development, 4-H, and community capacity
building. In his youth work, Jon works to help youth obtain
the life skills they need to succeed in the world. In his
community building work, Jon works
at the grassroots level
to help Maine people develop and enhance
their leadership skills so they can work collaboratively to create
the communities they want.

Diane Qualey,
Extension Nutrition Aide

Diane
joined
University of Maine
Cooperative Extension
in 1996 as a
Nutrition Aide. Diane enjoys providing guidance to senior
groups and individual clients alike, teaching them how to create
well balanced meals and what hidden pit falls exist in many of
today’s prepared foods. Diane is also active as a 4-H leader
in York County. Whether it’s a barn check in boots, making sure
exhibit time at the fair goes smoothly, or assuring needed funds are
raised at the food booth; the kids know they can depend on receiving
‘motherly-motivation’ from Diane. |

Frank Wertheim, Extension Educator
frankw@umext.maine.edu
Frank has worked with University of Maine Cooperative Extension
since December of 1986. He received his Masters in Science degree in
Plant and Soil Sciences from the University of Massachusetts in
Amherst. Frank’s work as an Agriculture Extension Educator includes
working with the farm community, Master Gardener Volunteers, and
public home gardening programs. Frank thoroughly enjoys his job
with the University of Maine Cooperative Extension, especially
working with clients and seeing long-term projects making an impact
in the community. |

Lynn Osgood, 4-H Aide
lynno@umext.maine.edu
Lynn joined the
University of Maine Cooperative Extension in 2007 as the 4-H Aide
for York County.
With her husband Russell and their two daughters, she lives on a
small farm with goats, sheep, pigs, turkeys, chickens, ducks,
rabbits, dogs and many small inside pets.
