Department Publications
The Department of English is home to The
National Poetry Foundation, an internationally recognized center for fostering
the study of modern poetry. The National Poetry Foundation publishes
numerous books on modern and contemporary poets and poetry, and
two scholarly journals: Paideuma: A Journal Devoted to Ezra Pound
Scholarship and Sagetrieb: A Journal Devoted to Poets in the Imagist/Objectivist
Tradition.
Graduate students in the Department of English edit a literary
annual, Stolen
Island Review; and undergraduate students edit
a literary annual, The Maine Review.
Students in the Department of English also publish, print and
edit a semi-regular literary magazine, The Accompanist, featuring
original poetry and prose, which is available free of charge
at the Department of English main office, 304 Neville Hall.
