2013 Region 4 EMS Service of the Year

The University Volunteer Ambulance Corps, also know around campus as UVAC, is the on-campus emergency medical service (EMS) for the University of Maine. Our ambulances respond to emergency calls at the University of Maine and provide mutual aid to surrounding towns and agencies. We are inspected and licensed by Maine Emergency Medical Services on a yearly basis, and carry the equipment necessary to provide the highest level of pre-hospital care.

For emergencies on campus, simply dial (207) 581-4040 from your cell phone to reach the UMaine Police Department. If you cannot remember this number, dialing 911 will also get you help as well. The ambulance will respond promptly with a crew of volunteer student EMT’s.
