Research interests: Post-Renaissance paganism. Victorian literature, art, and culture. The relationship between religion and literature and culture. Currently writing a book on the re-emergence of paganism in Victorian England, especially as seen in the paintings and writings of Carlyle, Ruskin, Morris, the Pre-Raphaelites, and the Aesthetes. |

The interaction of religion and science in Victorian culture. The harmony between art and literature in Victorian culture.
