medicine. It's a great program here because we have the
benefit of using Witter Farm so there's lots of hands-on
animal experience. It's great to be able to have vets that

The largest collection of
scientists and scientific expertise in Maine with 23 majors and
150 faculty members. Faculty members in NSFA are not only top
scientists in their field, but are great teachers, too. They
regularly involve undergraduates in research at a professional
level.
School of Biology and Ecology
The School of Biology and Ecology brings
together biologists and ecologists working with animals and plants
as individual organisms and in populations and ecosystems.
Students study important interactions from the molecular to
physiology and behavior to the ecosystems.
Undergraduate majors: Biology, botany, zoology and clinical laboratory sciences.
Programs include: Animal and
Veterinary Sciences; Health Professions; Botany; Earth Sciences;
Food Science and Human Nutrition; Parks, Recreation and Tourism;
Sustainable Agriculture; Zoology and others.
School of Marine Sciences
The School of Marine Sciences has programs in a broad spectrum of
marine studies, from molecular biology and biotechnology to
fisheries science, aquaculture, marine ecology and oceanography.
School of Forest Resources
This hot new school continues UMaine's key role in managing the
state's forestry resources. In addition, a Center for Sustainable
Forestry Research is the new home for forestry-related research
programs.
