Stereograms

Cyclopean space creatures, alas, lack cyclopean eyes.
Bizarro (by Piraro, 12-21-97). Says the one-eyed space creature to the other: “Hey, Spolcyc. C’mere and help me with this MAGIC EYE thing...”

There are a few kinds of stereograms. Gimme some time, and I’ll write the section explaining them. (Ha, now that the babies have arrived, that time will never come!) In the meantime, here are a couple in red-blue anaglyph format. Click in the obvious places to see them. (Red-blue or red-green glasses required.)

* Random-element stereogram depicting an irregularly corrugated surface.
* Contour stereogram depicting a (cartoon of) two bottles of a favorite soft drink. One bottle is closer than the other.
* A couple of my stereograms appear on an Application Note of mine that used to live at the site of Jandel Scientific, now gobbled up by SPSS (“the Microsoft of statistical computing”). One requires free-fusion, and the other requires red-blue glasses. Too bad SPSS shrunk the images so small that they’re not worth looking at! If I can dig up the original files, I’ll post them myself.

Thanks to Rod Gillis for bringing the Bizarro strip to my attention.
