FY 2009 National Network for Environmental Management Studies (NNEMS) Fellowship Program Grant
EPA established the NNEMS program in 1986 to foster a growing interest among higher education students in environmental careers. The NNEMS program is a comprehensive fellowship program that provides students an opportunity to participate in a fellowship project that is directly related to their field of study. The NNEMS program is sponsored by the Environmental Education Division (EED) in the EPA Office of Children’s Health Protection and Environmental Education.

Switzer Foundation
Switzer Environmental Fellowships
Deadline: February 1, 2009
The Switzer Foundation has annouced its application period for Switzer Environmental Fellowships is now open. Switzer Fellowships are given to top graduate students in New England and California who are committed to a career in environmental leadership. The Fellowship provides a one-year $15,000 cash award, as well as access to other Switzer grant programs, career support, and membership in the Switzer Fellowship Network, a vibrant community of over 400 past Fellows and environmental leaders. Please see the Call for Applications which describes the Fellowship program and its requirements.

RBC Blue Water Project Grants
RBC has a longstanding commitment to environmental sustainability. Water has become an integral part of that commitment, as water is fundamental to the sustainability of all life on the planet. The first phase of the RBC Blue Water Project, announced in late 2007, is a grant program of $50 million over ten years to support charitable initiatives that foster a culture of water stewardship.
Leadership Grants. Ranging from $25,000 to $500,000, these grants focus on watershed protection and/or access to safe drinking water and are available to local, regional, national or trans-border organizations for projects in any of the countries in which RBC is located, including Canada, the United States, the Caribbean and the UK. Deadlines for applications are June 30 and March 1 annually. Applications received after a deadline will be deferred to the next funding period.
Community Action Grants: Ranging from $1,000 to $5,000, these grants are focused on watershed protection and are available to local or community organizations in Canada, United States or the Caribbean. Some restrictions apply. Applications are accepted year long, starting in June, 2008.

Broad Agency Announcement for Conferences, Workshops, and/or Meetings
Deadlines: December 9, 2008
The EPA is issuing this Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) soliciting applications from eligible applicants for the planning, arranging, administering and/or conducting of conferences, workshops, and/or meetings that focus on research to protect human health and safeguard the environment. Specifically, EPA is interested in supporting scientific and technical research conferences that address the following research program areas: (1) human health; (2) ecosystems; water and security; (3) economics and sustainability; (4) air and global climate change; and (5) technology.
