Fisheries Data Integration Project
Objectives:
- Digitize priority IFW stream population and habitat data.
- Refine and extend an existing website (PEARL) to provide a user-friendly web-based ‘forum’ for sharing and integrating both lake and stream data in Maine, incorporating input from site user groups as appropriate.
- Upload to the new PEARL: (a) Biological data from the Maine Aquatic Biodiversity Project (MABP) database; and (b) newly digitized IFW data, as determined by IFW.
- Provide and publicize the necessary documentation to permit data providers to upload their own data to PEARL via the already established Data Annex System.
- Develop front-end user interfaces to PEARL for two targeted user-group (anglers, and educators/students). (See PEARL strategic plan for more information on this concept).
- Compile and digitize “anecdotal” fisheries information from IFW Region D biologists, as a pilot for developing a statewide database of this type.
