F.  Client-side image maps shall be provided instead of server-side image maps except where the regions cannot be defined with an available geometric shape.

Explanation:

Client-side image maps have been a feature of HTML since 1994. Use your Web editor to create hotspots in your image map and to insert the alt tags. An image map saved to your server is a client-side image map.
