Free 508-Compliant Redesign for
University-Related Web SitesIn
an ongoing effort to update existing university Web sites, many of which
remain dated and/or not 508 compliant (not accessible to those with
disabilities, which is a university mandate), the Department of University
Relations continues to offer a free redesign of all
university-related sites. This is important for all departments and
organizations to recognize.
The good news? Change is simple.
University Relations will take your
existing site and repurpose its information into an attractive new
template, which is available in both FrontPage and Dreamweaver formats.
It has been designed for an intuitive ease of use.

Just some of the sites that have benefited from
the 508-compliant redesign effort include the
President's
Office, the
College of Education and Human
Development,
UMaine Today Magazine,
Office of Equal
Opportunity and Diversity,
Plant Soil and
Environmental Sciences, the
Department of
Sociology,
Sawyer
Environmental Chemistry Research Laboratory, Student Financial Aid,
School of
Forest Resources, and hundreds of others.
Why go through the trouble of updating
and redesigning your site when we'll do it for you? Once the site
is complete, you will have the same control over the site as you've had
in the past. What we're offering is a new look that mirrors the
university's
Web site, and
thus also offers a seamless transition between all sites, with improved
navigation and search abilities. The key, however, is that you
will be offering a fully accessible, 508-compliant environment to all of
your site's visitors.
