Interested in creating a menopause support group?

After numerous requests and suggestions for a support group for women who have gone through menopause, are currently going through menopause or are perimenopausal, it is time to get something started!

If you would like to talk to other women about symptoms or issues that you are going through with menopause, or have gone through menopause and would like to help others through this amazing transition, please let us know how we can support you.

This program can be designed by the group with the assistance of HealthyU, such as:

  • Reserve meeting rooms
  • Coordinate guest speakers, trained professionals and experts in the field
  • Outline or create program material
  • Advertising
  • Communication
  • The list goes on...

There are many issues and health risks related to menopause that many women are not aware of. Did you know that as a woman enters menopause her risk for developing cardiovascular disease increases by 60-70%!!!

There are physiological changes that occur during menopause that result in many side effects that woman and society write off as something that simply occurs with age (such as; increased fat accumulation in the abdominal region, increase in blood pressure, increase in cholesterol).

While these changes seem to simply occur, there is something you can do about it. Find out from experts how you can delay or prevent the onset of cardiovascular disease, Type 2 diabetes and hypertension, despite the increased risk you face during menopause. Find out from other women what they did to keep their body weight at a healthy level during menopause, how they were able to deal with hot flashes, mood changes, loss of sleep and headaches.
