Welcome to Wetland Connections

Wetland Connections is an organization dedicated to the interdisciplinary study of the science and ecology of wetlands by Maine students. Several high schools and colleges throughout the state are currently participating in this program. Wetland Connections publishes a guide for teachers and students on how to explore wetlands and document the species found there.

This guidebook, the Maine Citizen's Guide to Locating and Documenting Vernal Pools, will be available in Adobe PDF format through this site and is currently available in a hard copy version.

This site is meant to serve as an on-line resource for students and other individuals interested in wetlands and the flora and fauna found there. To that end, extensive information on vernal pools and the creatures found in Maine's wetlands has been placed at this site.
