| The Wilde-Stein Alliance for Sexual Diversity, named after Oscar Wilde and Gertrude Stein, is a student organization that meets every Thursday at 7pm in the FFA Room. It is an alliance of students who embrace the spectrum of sexualities and genders and offers students the opportunity to socialize in a safe, accepting place, as well as to inform and support the GLBT community.
The group holds two very important weeklong events, Coming Out Week in October and Pride Week in April. These events invite the entire campus community to come celebrate and support the homosexual, bisexual, transgender, questioning, queer, intersexual and/or asexual community.
Students interested in joining Wilde Stein are encouraged to attend a meeting on Thursdays at 7pm, come by the Rainbow Resource Center on the bottom floor of the Memorial Union, or email Danielle Steele to have them added to the discussion folders on FirstClass.
|In April 2009, Wilde Stein joined over 4,000 other Mainers at the Augusta Civic Center in support of LD 1020 for Marriage Equality. Our Vice President, Edie Hansen, spoke as we all stood side-by-side with our orange "One in Ten" Pride Week t-shirts. Watch the video at the right!|
|Every year we host the very popular drag show as part of Pride Week. At the right, you can watch the entire 2009 Drag Show in 17 parts!|
